Failure in some aspect of life is always welcomed. This is because it serves as a building block towards great achievements  when properly managed. For the case of education failure in exams is a menace to students and most times leads to;

  • Depression
  • Frustration
  • And rejection of the system (SCHOOL)

REASON WHY STUDENTS FAIL IN SCHOOL

FAILURE IS A ACCUMULATION OF WRONG STEPS!

Failure is an accumulation of failing process.

Actually no student is too dull to pass or too intelligent to fail. Why students fail in school is categorized into;

  1. EXTERIOR FACTORS
  2. INTERIOR FACTORS

EXTERIOR FACTORS ARE THOSE EFFECTS CAUSED BY A THIRD PARTY, SOME OF THIS ARE:

  1. Parent’s pressure
  2. Family Crisis
  3. Finance
  4. Peer-group pressure
  5. Comparison

RECOMMENDED: 4 stages a youths must pass through, a must!!

INTERIOR FACTORS ARE THOSE WITHIN THE STUDENTS, EXAMPLE ARE:

  1. Fear
  2. Freedom
  3. Competition
  4. Comfort and laziness
  5. Health
  6. Psychology and Emotions

PARENTS PRESSURE

A parent in expectation of too much tends to subject their wards to pressure. It is good to set high standards, but it is also important to be patient. Parents should understand that an immediate result is not achieved. Sometimes it takes some time for some individuals to hit peak.

FAMILY CRISIS

Students are very sensitive and observant. They detect the peace of the environment around them. If there is crisis in the family, it should be kept out of sight of the students. For example parents exchanging words when kids are around can do harm to their performance generally in life.

PEER GROUP PRESSURE

Failures in school sometimes are caused by the decision made by the student. The choice of friends students keep to a great extent determines their performance. No matter how smart the student is, if he/she flows with the wrong set of friends soon he/she will begin to yield same result like them. Just as the aphorism that says an eagle that fellowship with chickens will one day forget how to fly.

FEAR OF ASSESSMENT

Some students have phobia for tests there for putting up poor performance. This student may bright but yet their result doesn’t show this. It is now the duty of the parent/teacher to understand this and help them manage such fears.

COMPETITION

This has both positive and negative effect. If a student is not facing competition laziness is bound to surface thereby leading to under performance. A student that is faced with competition for positive outcomes tends to step up performance time after times therefore increasing performance.

FREEDOM AND COMFORT

Many students mismanage freedom, instead of making good use of their time, they invest it on frivolities. Same thing for comfort. When a student has all he/she wants and this tends to make students relax feeling all is well.

FINANCIAL STATUS

Finance plays a great role in the performance of students. When a student has enough to at-least feed well, and get the basics he/she needs at every time then performance is most likely to be on the high side. If a student is always broke and lacking the basic needs he/she may waste time finding ways to get this needs which turns out to become distraction.
